Facebook recently removed everyone’s email address from their profile and replaced it with an @facebook.com email address, without asking you. Here’s a quick ‘how to’ on fixing that issue.
Step 1: Click “About” on your profile and scroll down to your email address. Click “Edit” to fix.
Step 2: Click on the circle next to your Facebook email address and change its setting to “Hidden from Timeline”. (That is, if you want to hide your Facebook email)
Step 3: Click on the circle next to your other email addresses and change their setting to “Shown on Timeline”.
Step 4: Click the Save button at the bottom of the Edit drop-down to seal the deal!
It’s a pretty quick fix, but a pretty big move for Facebook to make the switch without notification. Be sure to spread the word, so you and your friends who may use apps that sync with their contacts on Facebook, don’t miss out on the necessary and/or corrected contact email on their profile.
oh facebook…i just wish they would send out a changes email to everyone….ya know!
